World Top Gourmet Awards ceremony held in Malaysia
Maldivian chef Maha Naseer has received the Top Outstanding Master Chef Award for Maldives Cuisine at the World Top Gourmet Awards 2026, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The international recognition marks an important achievement for Maldivian culinary professionals and represents a step forward in promoting Maldivian cuisine and food culture on the global stage.
Maha, who also serves as a board director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (Visit Maldives Corporation), earned the title of Master Chef in 2022 from the Master Chefs Society of the World. She also serves as a continental judge for the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS), an international organisation representing professional chefs.
Organised by World Gourmet Malaysia, the awards have been presented since 2017 to recognise outstanding achievements in the culinary industry.
This year, awards were presented to a total of 108 recipients, including chefs, restaurants and food brands. The ceremony, held on 22 October, was attended by renowned chefs from around the world and numerous prominent figures from the food and culinary industry.
